Happy Release Day!

Standard

Today is the official release day of Model Marine! I'm so excited about this book for so many reasons. But the main one is that it's a happy book. I wanted to write a fun love story with the best hero I've ever. I have to tell you, by the end of writing Model Marine I was absolutely in love with Captain Will Hughes. And Hannah Harrington, the fashion designer he loves, knows what a great man he is.

Now for the good stuff. I'm giving away a ton 'o prizes this month. Everything from a Kindle and Nook, to an $50 gift certificates, to autographed books. It's so easy to win.

You can comment here and the Generality and Blaze (I'll be posting links here for you to those) blogs this month and I'll be giving away a prize with every blog to some lucky folks who post.

Winning the Nook or Kindle and some of the gift certificates is easy. All you have to do is is help a girl out by tweeting, posting  on Facebook, google post, etc., and talk about Model Marine. Make sure if you are on Twitter that you put @CandaceHavens in there somewhere so I can put your name in the hat. If you post on Facebook, just link to my name. If you post something kind about Model Marine on your blog, your name goes in 10 times, but make sure you send me a link. (You can use the email on the contact page of http://www.candacehavens.com ) You can also write a review on one of the major retail or book sites, just make sure you send me a link.

Told you it was easy.

I'm throwing a big Release Party today. Tell me what celebrity you'd like to meet at the party. Or share an random act of kindness from your life and three of you will win autographed books and one person wins a $25 Amazon gift certificate. And remember, your name also is included for the big prizes at the end of the month.

  1. Celebrity I love to meet

Hmmmm – how about Gerard Butler – he seems to be rather yummy! And can’t wait to see the new film – not quite your Model Marine, but still…

So here’s an entry from Michelle Drew

  2. Congrats

Congratulations Candy on your book release! I’ll be picking up my copy today and I can’t wait to start reading it to my wife. To help with the party I’ve asked Captain Hughes to stop by (shirtless of course) and help serve cupcakes that I brought. Enjoy! As to who else should be at the party? No party is complete without an appearance by Dakota Cassidy and Rachel Caine.

  3. Wow–that’s great, dragonhearth! I hope you and the inmates have a lovely feast.

I plan to order the book today as well, and I’ll be back later to tell you where I’ve bragged about it :-)

  4. Celebrity

Hi Candy. This is a great question…which celebrity would I like to meet at the party. I’ll go for…(drum roll, please)…Author Stephen J. Cannell. He’s definitely one of the people I admire most! HAPPY RELEASE DAY!

    Take care,

    Barb Han

Happy to give you a plug, Candy! The book sounds great! I fell in love with one of my heroes too. Congrats on the release and I hope the book sales go really well!

  7. Release Day

Congrats Candy on another release. I would love to stop by your party with Henry Cavill on my arm…. My man would be a SUPER party favor for all….. as long as I get to bring him home with me LOL

  8. Congratulations on the new release!! My copy downloaded to my lovely kindle this morning. I plan to start reading tomorrow. As for what celebrity I’d like to meet it would have to be Anderson Cooper. I’m in love with his new show and think it so cute! (Plus, he could hold an intelligent conversation.)

  9. Congratulations on your release day! I love happy books, so I hope I’ll get to read Model Marine soon. :)

I’d love to meet Nathan Fillion. If anyone can be a party all by himself, it’s him.

  10. Happy Release Day!!

Looks like I’m going to have a cat fight on my hands for Nathan Fillion. My New Year’s Resolution was to meet him and it hasn’t happened yet. Any help is appreciated! I’ll be pushing Model Marine on Facebook, even before I read it, because there’s no doubt it will be a fun story.

  11. I accidentally commented as anonymous….OOPS. So here I go again. I would love to hang with Nathan Fillion at your party. My New Year’s Resolution was to meet him and it hasn’t happened yet. If you could set that up, that’d be great…thanks. LOL
I will be pushing Model Marine on Facebook, even before I read it, because I know it will be a fun story.
And I’m hoping to have my own book on Nook or Kindle soon, thanks to your Comprehensive Writing Class I did this summer. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!

  12. I forgot who I wanted at the party. I would to have either Shiloh Walker or Eve Silver because I would love to meet both of these authors.

  13. Droid Vs iPhone 4

It was a longtime coming, but the release of the next generation of the iPhone is finally imminent. With cameras trained on one of Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, the iPhone 4S was unveiled after nearly a year of anticipation by fans and professionals alike. With a similar look and feel to the iPhone 4, the magic of this phone is found on the inside with new features and specs that have resulted in record breaking pre-sales. Here is a quick glimpse at why nearly 1 million people have already ordered this phone and what is in store for them.

The while the iPhone 4S was thought to be called the iPhone 5, there is still one very important ‘5’ inside of this device, the A5 processor. Pulled out of its sister technology, the iPad 2, the A5 is a dual-core processor will push speeds that are nearly twice as fast as the iPhone 4. Deemed a SoC, or sytem-on-a-chip, the A5 dramatically speeds up the iPhone 4S for nearly all of its uses. Carrying out multiple tasks, such as surfing the internet while streaming music, no longer lags the iPhone down to a choppy standstill.
