I've received several emails asking about the Fast Draft and Revision Hell classes. Here's a bit more info:
Fast Draft uses tools and psychology to help you complete a rough draft in two weeks. There is an accountability factor with your peers who are going through the same thing you are. Everything takes place online. I post the notes on a yahoogroup, and then participants post their goals and page counts each day.
Revision Hell is a two week process to clean up that rough draft. Revision tools are used so that you can target problems and polish your prose to perfection.
The classes are available through my website at http://www.candacehavens.com/index.php/workshops/ and it is $20 for both classes. It is the second workshop down. The class begins on Monday.
For those of you who are local to the DFW area, I'm teaching a writing workshop at UTA. Here's the blurb: Every writer needs a workshop. Let this be yours! This class will focus on work-shopping your fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry in order to get trusted feedback from your peers. You'll learn how to improve your craft through revisions based on the suggestions of unbiased readers. By the end of this course, you'll gain the editorial skills you need to improve your writing.
