Fun Stuff!!!

Do you ever have those weeks where you have tons of deadlines and can’t focus? This whole week has been like that for me. I have big deadlines for books and school and proposals. No different than any other week, I suppose. Just a grander scale of crap due. So of course instead I do things like play on Twitter or write blogs. ;)

So this won’t be a very long one. BUT it is Friday and we do need a dare. I have two for you this week.

1. Read a book outside of your comfort zone and tell us about it here.

2. Give a stranger a compliment and tell us about it here.

Easy ones this week but watch out for next week’s Dares. :)

Remember you can win a Kindle or Nook just by posting here, or following the contest rules on ( Some of you have sent me very creative photos and I’ll be sending those soon.

The lovely Cyd Tyler is the first winner of a $20 gift certificate from Amazon. She was the first person to TWEET or Facebook about the new book She Who Dares, Wins.

AND come see me tomorrow at the B&N in Lewisville TX from 2 -4 p.m. We will have CAKE! and prizes. :)

  1. 1. Read a book outside of your comfort zone and tell us about it here. Currently reading THE CRIMSON PETAL AND THE WHITE by Michel Faber — big honking Nautilus equipment of a faux-Victorian novel, only with smut as well as long descriptive passages. Got turned onto it by the BBC costume drama of the same name — so far, it’s turning out to be quite good.

  2. Outside my comfort zone

I haven’t read a sci/fi book since A Wrinkle in Time (a hundred years ago) years ago. I recently saw mention on many blogs that ‘Ender’s Game’ by Orson Scott Card was good so I bought it. It really surprised me having first been copyrighted in 1971, then in 1985 and 1991 with updates. The concept of computers and space station technology was impressive. And if you are a YA fan, you will fall in love with the main character. Worth reading. (Saw you in Lewisville today, but the signing was over – I sent an email.)
