The Weekend

Standard

Hey gang,
What are you doing this weekend? What are you reading and what are you listening to?
I’ve been reading in my short bits of free time and have managed to find some new favorites. In the car I’ve been listening to Acheron. Man talk about chasing your character up a tree and throwing rocks at him. LOL. Poor Acheron. I’m only halfway through, but I’m really enjoying Sherrilyn Kenyon’s story.

I just finished Nalini Singh’s Angels Blood. OMG, I loved this book. Never thought I’d fall for an angel, but boy did I ever. I can’t wait for more in this series.

I’ve been a big fan of Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series, and just finished Shadow Kiss. Imagine my frustration in finding out the next book doesn’t come out till August. Bummer.

Interviewing some True Blood folks about the new season, so I need to re-read the second book in the Charlaine Harris series.

So tell me what you’re reading and I’m searching for new music any ideas?

  1. Candy – I’m loving “The Hunger Games”, by Suzanne Collins. It’s a really sharp, dark YA about a postapocolyptic America where two teens from each of the 12 districts are chosen from a lottery to compete in gladiator-style, to the death battles. It’s a gripping, heart in the throat read told in first person present tense, which yanks you right into the action.

Music-wise, based on some of your other faves, I think you should check out Missy Higgins. She’s a great young singer-songwriter from Australia. Her new album “On a Clear Night” simply stunning.

  2. The Weekend

I read Immortal Danger by Cynthia Eden lately and it was fabulous and was lucky enough to read an ARC of Midnight’s Master by the same author. I loved it! I have a feeling we don’t have the same taste in music, so I’ll keep my mouth shut. *G*

  3. Currently reading…

    Hi Candy,

I am currently reading Pat Richardson’s book GREYWALKER. It is a fabulous paranormal book! Have you read any of her’s yet? There are 2 more after this called POLTERGEIST and UNDERGROUND. I haven’t read those yet but can’t wait to!

Well, the kind of music I like is all over the place. I like oldies, jazz, classic rock, current hits, etc. I am into right now John Legend, John Mayer, David Cook, Seal, just to name a few. I have been watching music videos on my cable network COMCAST called ON DEMAND. It really keeps me up-to-date on all the current music on the scene right now.

    Congrats on your new book!
    Michele L.
