I’m in San Fran

Standard

I can see why people love living in San Francisco. I’ve got to find a way to spend my summers here because the weather is friggin’ amazing. Highs in the 60s. If that’s not heaven, I don’t know what is. I’m at the Marriott right in the middle of downtown, and it’s like being in NYC, but on the west coast. It just has that east coast city vibe, very uncalifornian to me. :-) And the shopping… Let’s just say I have to behave and it isn’t easy. :-) I’m here with my buds Shannon and Rosemary in preparation for the big romance writer’s convention here. I’ve been working all morning, but plan to get out to do some more sight seeing this afternoon. (If you’re in the area come see us on Wed. 5:30-7:30 at the big literacy book signing. It’s in the Yerba Ballroom where at the Marriott).

Let’s see…. I spent a few days with family in California. Very relaxing. My cousins Tom and Eve took very good care of me and we had a good time.

Oh… I forgot to tell you about NBC’s day. They actually have some interesting shows coming up. Kings with Ian McShane looks interesting. They just started filming but it’s a series set in a world much like our own, but not, and it’s the story of David and Goliath. How wild is that? I’m also interested in My Own Worst Enemy with Christian Slater. You know, I realized it had been almost 10 years since I’d talked to him. He’s changed so much, in a good way. Very easy to be around. Kath & Kim is a new comedy with Molly Shannon and Selma Blair. Could be funny, or could fall in a big bad way. They are also doing Knight Rider. (clears throat) I’m going to withhold judgment on that.

So much has happened since I last posted. We had a death in the family. Very unexpected. My aunt, who is only four years older than me. Massive heart attack. Scary stuff. It’s one of those times when you stop and think about what’s really important. So I beg you to hold those closest to you a little tighter today and remember no matter how crazy they make you, it’s good to have people to love who love you back.
