Back to our regularly scheduled programming

I realized it had been a long time since I posted. I needed a break from the computer. For the last five days I’ve only been doing what I absolutely had to get done. :-)

I had a great birthday and the celebration carried over to the weekend. We went to one of my favorite places last night, The Melting Pot. It’s fondue, and is totally delicious. We took the kids for the first time, and they loved it. It’s pricey, but also a great experience. Of course my very well-behaved children and husband couldn’t resist using the lobster tails as puppets. I can’t take those guys anywhere. (IT was so funny I almost snorted shrimp thru my nose. Painful.)

I took it very easy this weekend. I’m still fighting the mono thing. I had big plans to get the upstairs game room clean, but it can wait another week. I’ve also been searching online for an appropriate cocktail dress for an awards thing I’m presenting at. No such luck yet.

The whole searching for a dress thing made me think about some favorite outfits I had when I was a little girl. There was this one dark blue dress with small red polka dots. It has ruffled sleeves and I loved the twirl factor of that dress. I was five. Oh, and there was another favorite. It had a gold longsleeve blouse with a little brown leather vest and tweed skirt. I felt like a diva when I wore those. And I always wore a small gold locket that had a tiny birthstone in it. I still have that. :-)

So what was your favorite item of clothing or jewelry when you were young?
