I’ve spent the day on the couch with my dogs watching movies. It’s been very relaxing. I still feel like poo, and I have no voice. Like nada. My kids and husband that that’s sooo funny. Thank you all for your home remedies. :-)
I doped myself up big time yesterday and made it to the meeting and to Rosemary’s booksigning for Prom Dates From Hell. It was incredibly successful and rightfully so. It’s a really great book, as some of you noted on a previous post.
I need to be working but I’m thinking a couple of days off after finishing a book isn’t such a bad thing. And it isn’t like I’m not already thinking about all the upcoming projects already. :-)
So what did you guys do this weekend?
And tell me about your dream house. What would it have in it that would make it perfect? I love my house. My only wish is for a swimming pool. :-)

It was great to see you at B&N yesterday. I’m sorry you still feel so rotten. I’m sure the down time will help a lot. I finished Rosemary’s book yesterday. It was truly AWESOME!
I spent Saturday afternoon reading this terrific book I got at a booksigning yesterday :] Then taking my daughter to work, picking her up… Today, I actually was able to sleep late. Miracle of miracles. I’ve worked on my WIP today too.
My dream house would have 4 big bedrooms – 1 for each kid, me, and a guest room. I would also want an office for myself and a gourmet kitchen. I love a nice kitchen! Not too much yard, and no pool. I wouldn’t use it much. My kids would be another matter. I have a hot tub now that we don’t use.
Dream house? It’d be in Colorado, and it’d be easy to keep it warm in the winter. I’d like an extra wide hallway to put custom book shelves. We never have enough bookshelf space. :-)

After Spring Break-ing all week, I’ve tried to do as little as possible. :)
Dream House… hm. I am DYING for a very palacial master bathroom with a separate tub (with jets) and shower, one of those bowl sinks with the very cool faucets. Oh yeah…and someone to clean it. :)
What did I do this weekend?? The same thing I always do….work.
Dream house? I don’t really want a dream house. my ideal living arrangement would to be to go from place to place with no fixed home. If I could realize an income that didn’t depend on me staying in the same place all the time (like the perfectly normal job I have), I would just travel and see all the places that I have always wanted to see.

I’m so glad Rosemary’s book signing went well. I didn’t see that she was having one until too late. I would have loved to come. Hopefully next time.
This week-end I went to DARA and heard about ebooks. It was very interesting. A lot of great information. Afterwards was lunch with some other writer friends and then on to a soccer game.
My dream house would be an English Cottage with a flower garden. And Hugh Jackman would be my next door neighbor. :-)
But really I already have a dream house better than I ever dreamed of and a wonderful family to go with it. I could still have Hugh Jackman as my neighbor though. If it wasn’t for stupid court orders and those stupid 500 hundred feet rules. Who comes up with that stuff! ;-)

Saturday we hit the booksigning and watched Basketball (march madness BABY) and then Sunday I wrote some, watched some basketball and took a much needed nap.
Dream house, big rooms, VERY energy efficient, my own office, great views, a big yard, something sort of Victorian with hardwoood floors. Something with character and charm
My dream house would have a two-story library with those cool rolling ladders.
I hope you’re feeling better. I forgot to check blogs Saturday night, but I was operating on less sleep than usual. I drink lots of orange juice and take Airborne, and since I tend to eat less when I have a cold, I usually go all day without eating and then have some soup of some kind, and I feel quite a bit stronger a little while later.
My boyfriend took me book shopping both Saturday and Sunday. We went to a Barnes & Noble Sat., and a Borders Sun. Plus, on Sat., we went to a bird store I hadn’t been to (he’s been to it several times), and he showed me the cages he’s considering for our bird; we’re getting a house, and Loki’s getting a new cage. :)
I watched the HGTV Dream House show, hoping I’d win. I entered almost every day, and I knew the odds were against me, but I still hoped. *Sigh!* Didn’t happen. Some guy in Tennessee won it. Drat. I’d sell the home (because I heard about a couple that tried to keep it, and the bills were phenomenal–like $25,000 a month, just for electricity–and I don’t want to live in Colorado), but the money from the sale would be more than enough to buy a fabulous home, along with a lot of other nice things, plus still plenty left over to put in savings. Plus, you get a car–I’d probably sell that, too, because I think the insurance would be too much on it, for a cheaper car. I might keep the cool doghouse that also comes with it.
I haven’t really put much thought into my dream house. I don’t know if I’ll ever have that kind of money–it would be luxurious–and I don’t want to depress myself over something I may never get. But I can tell you there would be lots of rooms, large living room and master bedroom, large bathroom with glass doors on the shower, jacuzzi, huge yard or even quite a bit of land (especially for my dogs–the dogs I’d have–to roam), luxurious doghouses, possibly a wood-burning fireplace, and housekeepers, preferably sexy males who wear little to nothing most of the time. I’d also fill it with a hundred hot, sexy, virile love slaves. :D
This weekend… read, slept, hockey game, slept, read, etc… great weekend!
Dream house… I can so see this in my mind. I’ve been slowly planning it for years because I know the day will come when I get to build it. Large, Victorian like, with curved wraparound porch but I would like a one story instead of two. Haven’t figured exactly how that will work yet though. It would need a high roof with lots of angles. Swing on the porch, of course, HUGE gourment kitchen with granite everywhere. I haven’t decided if the island will have a sink or stove or just be a slab. I would, of course, have to have a separate office with lots of windows and french doors. One set looking out over a great view and the other opening up to the swimming pool. Bookshelves covering the walls and a little fridge and bathroom also in the office. I would need a covered deck, to sit and write while it’s raining outside, and an open patio to sit and stare at the stars. Lots and lots of closets and a master bedroom with a sitting area. A split floor plan so any guests/kids are on the other side of the house. And a great room where I could put a 60+” widescreen tv and surround sound.
And this would all be set privately on a large lot but not way far out in the country…. probably… that one’s still open for discussion.
Oh, and I guess I would need to give me husband his own room. He’s a big music and sports card fan so I would give him a place to hang out with all his stuff.
