Do you guys cook? I don’t really, though I’ve learned to enjoy it over this past year. I was in the mood for “real food” tonight and was going to make a Rachael Ray recipe, but I didn’t have all the ingredients. So I threw something together, we’ll call it Candy’s chicken surprise, and it came out pretty good. Potatoes, chicken, broccoli (I just spelled broccoli right for the first time in my life. Look, I did it again!), all in a pan with a ton of cheese and loads of spices. Hard to go wrong.

But when you think about it, that’s how books work too. You have a basic recipe, but it’s the surprises that we all enjoy so much. The hint of spices here and there, and then that bite of pure bliss when everything comes together. A great book is one that takes you down a road you never expected and gives you good bites all along the way. :-)

So do you guys have big plans for the weekend? I have a booksigning at 7 p.m. in Denton on Saturday night. I’m not really sure why it’s so late in the day, but if you are around, please come by and say hello.

I plan to read and do some research for the new project. It’s top secret or I’d ask for your help. :-)

Oh, make sure you check out http://www.kscs.com keyword: candy for my movie reviews. We should have the page updated tomorrow.
