Hope everyone had a great holiday. I tried to take a four-day vacation. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve had four days off in a row. I made myself stay away from the computer and didn’t write. My plan was to beach out on the couch and catch up with books, tv and movies. I’d been fighting a sinus infection for about a month, and the doc said I had to rest. Well, I did. For about four hours. :-) I know there are people in the world who can just hang out for days, but I’m not one of them. I did sit though that first day. I made two hats for the homeless, and started a scarf for my youngest son. The next day was Thanksgiving, and it was just my kids, husband and me. I sort of got stuck putting the dinner together by myself. (Everyone magically disappeared.) But it was a really nice day. Then we went and saw Harry P. again. Friday was an early call. The radio station does a toy drive that always kicks off the day after Thanksgiving. It really gets me in the holiday spirit, but getting there by 7 a.m. whew. After that we went and bought a washer and a dryer. Then my husband decided we needed to do a total remodel on the laundry room upstairs. He wanted to do all the clean up himself, so I let him. But then I felt guilty just sitting around so I started reorganizing the kitchen. ;-) I had no idea we had all that stuff. Gave a lot of it away to the Salvation Army. Saturday night he finally had everything the way he wanted it up there, but the walls looked terrible. He was exhausted, so I offered to paint. (I know I’m insane.) Five hours later we had a honey golden laundry room. And I could no longer raise my arms above my head. (I’m so out of shape.) Sunday, I could stand it no longer. I had to get back to work. Thank the Lord. I was exhausted from vacationing. ;-)
